At RePublic Schools, it is essential to uplift the voices of our scholars and staff, share the stories that change lives, and highlight the connection that allows us to advance our mission of love, achievement, and anti-racism. In the Our Voice, Our Story, Our Connection series, you will hear from scholars, staff, and school leaders about why they continue to choose RePublic each day.

We were fortunate to speak with Ms. Bianca Young, Assistant Principal of Instruction at Revive Collegiate; consequently, she shared her story and the impact she has made on our scholars and RePublic Schools.

Ms. Young, please tell us a little about your background with RePublic Schools.

To begin with, my passion for making a positive, long-lasting impact on the lives of young people through literacy drives my work. I started my journey with RePublic in the Fall of 2021 at SP as a Reading Interventionist. I was inspired by RePublic’s bold vision, rooted in love, achievement, and anti-racism, and I eagerly dedicated myself to creating equitable and diverse educational experiences for all learners. Each year, I witness the remarkable growth and achievements of scholars and teachers, which inspires me to continue my efforts.

Our Voice

It is crucial to be heard as an educational leader who continues to expand my knowledge through research-based practices and meaningful, authentic experiences while also voicing the equity-based needs of both scholars and teachers. Within the collective school network, my voice contributes data-informed suggestions that elevate instructional practices and prompt collaboration across schools to strengthen our RePublic community.

Our Story

The understanding and sharing of collective stories specifically strengthens communication and relatability across schools. It creates opportunities for stakeholders in different school buildings and/or across states to gain insight into similar experiences, share meaningful suggestions and strategies, establish personal, supportive connections, and more.

Our Connection

Lastly, we can further enhance collaboration and communication within our school network by increasing the opportunities for school leadership teams and teacher leaders to collaborate within and across regions. Leader summits, where TN and MS leaders join together at least twice within the school year; regional PDs, at least once a quarter, where Teacher leaders and SBLTs rotate presenting.
