CORE VALUES

LEAD FOR RACIAL EQUITY

We believe that racism’s legacy in education is most entrenched in the South. We look at ourselves first, reflect, and talk about the role racism plays in our lives. We work to be constantly anti-racist in our words and actions.

STRIVE FOR EXCELLENCE

We believe achieving excellence is a challenging journey. We maintain high standards and endeavor towards excellence each day.

CREATE JOY

We believe that joy is the undercurrent of the work we do. We choose to see and create the joy that is within us and around us, and we actively work to spread that joy to others.

BECOME BETTER
TOGETHER

We believe that each member of our community brings a unique and valuable perspective. We honor and celebrate these perspectives, and we know that our differences make us stronger.

PURSUE GROWTH

We believe that we can and must get better. We constantly seek to both support each other and also improve our work.

WHAT IS A
CHARTER SCHOOL?

FREE & INDEPENDENT

A charter school is a free public school that is run independently of the school district. Charter schools are given more flexibility in their finances, personnel, scheduling, curriculum, and instruction than a traditional district school.

OPEN TO ALL STUDENTS

Charter schools are open to all students in the designated geographic area regardless of race, income, special needs, or previous academic performance. In Tennessee, eligible students must live in Davidson County, and in Mississippi, eligible students must live in a C, D, or an F rated school district.

ALL THE EXTRAS OF A TRADITIONAL SCHOOL

All our middle and high schools feature sports for boys and girls, and all seven of our schools host after-school clubs including robotics, dance, and service clubs. Our schools also host special events including dances, family activities, and celebrations including Hispanic Heritage Month and Black History Month.
