Nashville Prep scholars took the stage in a recent WSMV4 Surprise Squad feature, celebrating the incredible work of CounterPunch Academy and its founder, Coach Tramaine Crook. The moment was more than just TV time—it was an opportunity for our students to showcase how Nashville Prep scholars lead with confidence, both on and off camera.
Nashville Prep students stepped up with energy and pride, sharing the fun of the experience while representing the school’s commitment to developing strong leaders. From the ring to the classroom, the partnership with CounterPunch is leaving a lasting impact.
“Their impact has resonated throughout the hallways, throughout the classrooms,” explained Nashville Prep Principal Shalimar Gates. “We even get compliments from parents about how they see it showing up at home. So this program is really transforming our students and really impacting our school culture.”
CounterPunch received a donation for their efforts; we are grateful they are part of our school community.
Principal Gates also shared her gratitude for Coach Crook: “Well deserved! I think it’s important that he is feeling and seeing that his work is paying off, and I just thank you all for recognizing him and then pouring into his program.”
