Last month, RePublic Schools Mississippi and Tennessee leaders gathered in Jackson, MS, for the Pivot Conference. Notably, the Pivot Conference empowering school leaders provides a transformative space for educators to refine their leadership skills and drive meaningful change. Furthermore, this transformative event focused on refining leadership skills and fostering educator collaboration. Pivot’s mission is to equip and empower the most effective school leaders to achieve exceptional outcomes for every learner in underserved communities.

Pivot’s five core principles:

• Center the Leader: Enhancing conditions for growth to maximize impact.
• Confront the Context: Addressing systemic inequities and dismantling barriers.
• Hold Space for Humanity: Leading with empathy, grace, and recognition of individual journeys.
• Raise the Bar: Innovating and pushing boundaries to redefine leadership preparation.
• Own It: Prioritizing accountability, excellence, and collective mission.

Notably, the Pivot Conference empowers school leaders and equips educators to create impactful solutions for their schools. Additionally, assistant principals participated in a specialized cohort designed to prepare them for future leadership roles while strengthening their expertise. As a result, the Pivot Conference provided a unique opportunity for leaders to revisit, reimagine, and reset their approaches to creating meaningful change in underserved communities.
