RePublic High School Recent DCAP Program Highlights
At RePublic High School, our mission is to prepare every scholar for postsecondary education and career success. Through our DCAP (College Access and Persistence) program, we’re breaking barriers and unlocking opportunities for long-term achievement.
Here’s a snapshot of recent DCAP highlights that showcase our commitment to college and career readiness:
1. College Exposure Trip to Austin Peay State University
Thirty-one scholars recently toured Austin Peay State University, where they explored the campus, connected with students and faculty, and gained a firsthand glimpse into college life.
- Increased College Motivation: 90% of participants felt more inspired to attend college after the trip, citing the visit’s hands-on experiences as pivotal.
- Momentum in Applications: Already, 42% of attendees have started their applications to Austin Peay, taking steps toward financial aid and college preparation.
This experience reinforced their readiness to pursue higher education with confidence and enthusiasm.
2. Earning Industry-Recognized Certifications
This month, students are earning certifications in CPR, First Aid, and AED. These credentials not only strengthen college and job applications but also equip scholars with valuable life-saving skills for our school community and beyond.
3. Supporting First-Generation College Students
Our new First-Generation College Program provides tailored support for students who will be the first in their families to attend college. Partnering with counselors, teachers, and advisors across RePublic Schools, this initiative offers:
- Targeted Guidance: Personalized mentorship, financial aid assistance, and career planning.
- Improved Outcomes: Programs like this increase graduation rates by 30% and boost academic confidence for over 60% of participants.
Through this effort, we empower first-generation scholars to access college, thrive, and graduate successfully.
Setting the Standard for College & Career Readiness
RePublic High School ranked No. 10 in Tennessee for college and career readiness last year, with an 85% readiness rate. This year, we’re aiming even higher—with the No. 1 spot in our sights.
