We are thrilled to announce the newest addition to our executive leadership team, Matthew Ochoa, who has joined RePublic Schools as our Chief Financial Officer! The role of the Chief Financial Officer includes overseeing our budget planning and financial management processes and planning for a financially sustainable future that centers the scholar experience.
Matthew Ochoa, a charter school graduate, brings a unique perspective and dedication to his work, having journeyed from a student in the charter school system to a leader within it. With over a decade of experience in finance and operations in the education sector, he has built a broad foundation by working across every function a CFO oversees, preparing him to lead with experience and excellence for the students we serve.
Most recently, he served as Director of Finance at Summit Public Schools, where he oversaw a $30M financial portfolio, led impactful initiatives to streamline financial processes, and enhanced organizational sustainability. Matthew Ochoa has demonstrated exceptional leadership throughout his career, managing high-performing teams at prominent charter networks like KIPP Massachusetts and Brooke Charter Schools. His student-centered focus and growth mindset—qualities he believes are essential for adaptability and progress—align perfectly with RePublic’s commitment to excellence and continuous improvement.
