Congratulations to Ebonie Ross, Principal of Smilow Collegiate for her Selection to Leadership Greater Jackson Cohort!

It is with great pleasure and excitement that we at RePublic Schools congratulate Ebonie Ross, Principal of Smilow Collegiate in Jackson, Mississippi, on her selection as a cohort in Leadership Greater Jackson. This prestigious program was founded in 1986 with the goal of cultivating leaders who could drive positive change in the metro Jackson area. We are proud to see Ebonie Ross recognized for her leadership skills and dedication to the community.

As a school principal within the RePublic Schools network, Ebonie Ross aligns perfectly with the purpose of Leadership Greater Jackson. RePublic Schools’ mission is to empower students towards love, achievement, and antiracism, which aligns perfectly with Leadership Greater Jackson’s desire to ensure a demographically balanced leadership group. Representatives like Ebonie are so important in the work that needs to be done. Her work at Smilow Collegiate is a testament to this mission, as she provides her students with the tools and resources they need to succeed, regardless of their background.

We believe that RePublic’s mission towards love, achievement, and anti-racism is essential for creating a strong foundation for solving the issues that are present within the city of Jackson, as well as the entire South. We are proud to have Ebonie as a member of our community, and we fully support her efforts to bring positive change to Jackson.

“I am forever grateful to be able to have the opportunity to form bonds with people from various backgrounds, occupations, and experiences,” says Ross.  “This will allow me to be able to cast an even wider net when it comes to providing resources for those around me.”.

It is also worth noting that Ebonie is not the only member of the RePublic community to be a part of Leadership Greater Jackson. Board member Trey Vernanci, who serves as the Senior Director of Operations for RePublic, as well as scholars De’Angel Harrell (Reimagine Prep) and Samuel Eubanks (Smilow Prep) are all also part of this prestigious leadership group. We are thrilled to see so many faces of RePublic representing our community in Leadership Greater Jackson.

Ebonie Ross is a shining example of the kind of leadership that RePublic Schools strives to foster. We are so proud of her accomplishment and look forward to seeing her and her fellow RePublic colleagues continue to make a positive impact in the community through their involvement in Leadership Greater Jackson. Congratulations, Ebonie!
