Meet Ashlee Pitts, The Magician at Reimagine Prep.
"Ten years from now, I hope my students say they learned from my classroom two things: academic grit and kindness. If they learn academic grit, they’ll take time to process any struggle and work through it, no matter how frustrating or difficult the situation may be. If they are kind to other people, their lives will be richer. My favorite memory this year is of one student in CMU. He struggled for weeks, often saying things like 'this is so frustrating!' or 'I can’t do this!' Now, after working through his struggles, he says, 'Oh, I get this! I understand now why I should have sentence starters!' Now, he helps other students on the same concepts he struggled with just a few weeks ago."
